Our Puppies

Clarochel German Shepherd Dogs is a small kennel, registered with the German Shepherd dog Federation of South Africa, where the wellbeing of our dogs matter more than an extensive breeding career. As a breeder focussed on quality over quantity, we do not permanently have puppies available. As a rule we only breed 2 or 3 litters a year.

The Clarochel Promise

Here at Clarochel, our puppies are our absolute pride. We aim to give our new baby, the best possible start to life, which includes:

  • We breed for quality over quantity. The puppies we breed, is our pride and joy. We breed for overall quality and breed standard conformation, with a special focus on temperament.
  • Our puppies are raised in a home environment, with lots of stimulation, noises and interactions with people and other dogs, ensuring a well-balanced puppy.
  • Our puppies are weaned onto a high quality puppy food (Royal Canin) and we recommend that, where possible, you continue feeding the same food for as long as possible.
  • Our puppies are dewormed bi-weekly from the age of 2 weeks. 
  • Our puppies are vaccinated twice by the age of 6 weeks, and 3 times by the age of 9 weeks. We provide a complete vaccination record, and advise on how to follow through with the correct vaccination schedule.
  • ALL our puppies are registered with the German Shepherd dog Federation of SA, and they are sold with the registration certificate and 5-generation pedigree. 
  • We breed according to the rules, regulations and ethical standards of the GSDFSA.
  • Our puppies are both Tattooed and Microchipped by the time they join their new families, giving you the peace of mind that they are as traceable as possible in the unfortunate event of your puppy going missing.
  • When our puppies join their new families, we provide a 'Puppy Pack', including at least: 
    A puppy raising guide, a pack of Royal Canin Puppy Food, a blanket with the smell of home on it, and some other goodies.
  • Every owner of a Clarochel puppy is expected to agree to and sign our contract. This includes important points like taking good care of the health and wellbeing of your new family member, but also includes a clause that ensures that the puppy is returned to us, if by any circumstance you are unable to keep it or provide for it.
  • Throughout your puppy's first 8 weeks with us, we provide you with regular updates and photos. We welcome visits after the age of 6 weeks.
  • No puppy will leave our premises before the age of 8 weeks.
  • We are committed to be available to our puppy owners throughout the lifetime of the puppy. If you have questions or concerns, we are more than happy to assist and advise where possible.

Urex la Clarochel

Urex is a young boy with a promising future ahead of him. He absolutely loves cuddles and attention, but can also be quite independent at times. Urex has already started with his basic obedience training, and does really well. He gets along well with other dogs. We will consider show and pet homes for this boy, providing that he will get all the love and attention he needs. We are super excited about this litter, a litter that combines some of the most impressive bloodlines available in South Africa.
Neo, the father of this litter, is our young boy, full of life, drive and stunning breed type.
Urika, the mother of this litter, is an older girl, and her previous litters all produced some stunning babies. Urika is a laid-back female, with a solid temparement and an affectionate disposition. Her babies are generally quite large, typey and have stunning temperaments.

We are currently only considering show homes for this litter, as we believe the pedigree is worth keeping around. If you would be interested in offering one of these babies a home, please let us know.

We have been hoping to combine these bloodlines for a very long time. Rojo is the repeat sister of a female named Nessi vom Pfälzer Wald, and the combination of Diesel and Rojo created some stunning progeny, including the Youth Sieger Axl-Rose of Kelmallyn.

It's been a long, rocky road to get Rojo pregnant, but it is confirmed via ultrasound, and we are super excited to see these little munchkins soon.
